The “Battery Fire Safety Workshop” was held on 24 November 2025 under the leadership of Istanbul Technical University’s Disaster Management Institute and Energy Institute. The workshop brought together expert academics, industry representatives, and emergency response teams. During the event, risks and preventive measures associated with battery chemistry, detection and extinguishing systems, intervention procedures, and the knowns/unknowns in these areas were discussed in detail.

The outputs of the workshop laid the groundwork for a larger-scale event to be held in the coming days and highlighted the necessity of a multi-stakeholder effort that should be addressed at the international level.
