A meeting was held on 2 July 2025 at Dunaújváros University (DUE) in Hungary to evaluate academic and research collaboration opportunities between Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Dunaújváros University.
The meeting began with an opening speech by DUE Director of International Relations, Ildikó László. Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Nilgün Baydoğan from the ITU Energy Institute introduced our university’s scientific research ecosystem, accepted patent portfolio, and areas open to cooperation.
On behalf of DUE:
• István Gulyás provided information about the UniSpace Programme, which involves 21 universities,
• Dr. Judit Pázmán presented the university’s nuclear programme and the activities of the Paks Competence Center,
• Dr. Orsolya Falus shared assessments regarding the department’s academic activities.
During the discussions, the non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment infrastructure—particularly involving ultrasonic and X-ray techniques—emerged as a joint research area with strong potential between the two institutions.
Within the scope of the visit, initial evaluations were made regarding the signing of a framework Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, and both parties expressed their intention to continue the discussions and to develop concrete joint projects.
