The international collaboration carried out between the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Energy Institute and Algeria’s Laghouat University in the fields of semiconductor thin-film technologies, photovoltaic materials, and solar cell simulations has continued to produce significant scientific outputs over the past two years.

Within this framework, Dr. Naceur Selmane visited the ITU Energy Institute three times during different periods (2023–2025), participated in joint research activities, and supported laboratory work together with doctoral students. During these visits, collaborative studies were conducted on the experimental characterization of semiconductor-based thin-film structures, SCAPS-1D simulation studies, and photovoltaic performance analyses.

As a result of this international collaboration, two important SCI-indexed publications have been produced over the past two years:

These studies have contributed significantly to strengthening scientific cooperation between Türkiye and Algeria, increasing the shared knowledge base of both countries in semiconductor solar cell research, and enhancing the international research experience of young scientists.

The research infrastructure of the ITU Energy Institute provides sustainable collaboration opportunities by supporting the experimental work of international partners in the areas of photovoltaic systems, thin-film materials, and radiation applications.

During the visits, doctoral students from Algeria and ITU researchers worked together, ensuring intensive technical interaction through the sharing of experimental procedures, optimization of simulations, and joint publication goals.
