Prof. Dr. Nilgün Baydoğan, a faculty member of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Energy Institute, has recently undertaken two significant roles within the scope of academic collaborations conducted with Université de Lille / CNRS–UMET.

Prof. Baydoğan served on the CSI (Individual Thesis Monitoring) committee for four doctoral students in 2025 as part of the doctoral program carried out by Université de Lille. These monitoring meetings represent a critical academic mechanism that contributes to evaluating students’ thesis progress, providing methodological guidance, and enhancing research quality.

In addition, Prof. Baydoğan served as a jury member in the doctoral thesis defense of Dr. Hanene Oumeddour held at Université de Lille. Following the successful completion of the defense, Prof. Baydoğan congratulated the candidate on her academic performance and wished her success in her career.

These roles confirm the active position of the ITU Energy Institute in international doctoral education and contribute to strengthening long-term academic collaborations with research institutions in France. The visibility of ITU in international research networks and the engagement of its academic staff at the master’s and doctoral levels reinforce the university’s standing in the global academic arena.

Prof. Baydoğan stated that contributing to the development of young researchers is always meaningful for her and expressed that scientific collaboration between ITU and France will continue to grow in the coming years.
