ITU Energy Institute Launches Innovative Eco-Friendly Hydrogen Generation Devices Project
The project led by Assoc. Prof. M. Suha Yazıcı is a remarkable research initiative named “Eco-Friendly Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Generation Devices Based on Carbon Textile Composite Photoelectrodes (PEC2HY)” and it is supported by TUBITAK-NRF Program.
The research aims to develop photoanodes, photocathodes and tandem cells for photoelectrochemical hydrogen production. Thin-film deposition, cell design and electrochemical tests will be carried out. ITU project team will develop photocathodes with various dopants for acceptable absorption spectrum to the solar light and a proper band structure for PEC applications.
